Marek Pałus

A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia in Katowice. He has been a legal counsel since 1994. In 1998-2001, he was the President of the Management Board of Fundusz Górnośląski SA in Katowice.

A member of the supervisory boards of the following companies:

– Zakład Energetyczny Tarnów SA,
– Huta Łaziska SA,
– Górnośląski Fundusz Restrukturyzacyjny SA,
– Inwestor Górnośląski SA,
– Polska Liga Koszykówki SA.

In 2000-2006 he was the President of the Polish Basketball Federation.

In 2001-2010 a member of the Management Board of the International Basketball Federation FIBA-Europe. From 2002 to 2010, the President of the FIBA-Europe Legal Commission and a member of the International Legal Commission of the FIBA International Basketball Federation in Geneva.

Since 2014 he has been a member, and since 2019 a chairman of the Appeals Committee of the International Basketball Federation in Geneva. Since 2019 a vice-chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the International Ice Hockey Federation and since 2018, an arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.

He has been an expert of the committees and subcommittees of the Polish Parliament regarding work on amendments to the Law on Physical Culture, as well as the Law on Qualified Sports and the Law on Sports. He knows the following foreign languages: English, German and Russian.
