The Polish Olympic Committee is an autonomous, nationwide association of sports federations and organizations. It has the exclusive right to use and authorize the Olympic symbols set out in the Olympic Charter, as well as the designations “Olympic Games” and “Olympic Committee”, in Poland. Sport occupies a special place at Polskie Radio, which broadcasts, reports and provides commentary on major domestic and international sports events. The first sports news came out in 1925. Polish Radio made its Olympic debut with reports and commentary from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Berlin in 1936. Since then, Polish Radio has become an official partner of the Polish Olympic Committee and Polish Radio journalists have been present at every Olympics. Polish Radio currently broadcasts around 18 hours of sports information per week.
